Enjoy short films in the Stadthalle or at home – your choice!

These trying times have challenged us to take the International Short Film Festival Detmold to the next level. This year the festival live event will be held at the Stadthalle Detmold on the 23.-25. October. But for the first time ever we present you with an online alternative – the whole event will be streamed in real-time from the venue.

For these three days in Stadthalle Detmold we are implementing all necessary safety precautions to prevent COVID-19 from spreading. Consequently, we offer only limited seats in the cinema hall and a seat will be assigned to each guest individually.

Tickets are available primarily through an online presale and selected ticket offices in Detmold. This year we offer no individual movie-block tickets, instead you can purchase a four-hour ticket, which covers four blocks.

During the festival, you can visit the art exhibition and take part in Q&A sessions with the filmmakers. Drinks and snacks will also be available.

For those, who are unable to come to the venue, we bring the cinema to you. We invite you to enjoy evenings filled with finely selected short films in the comfort of your own home. You can stay safe together with your loved ones and still take part in our festival, that we have crafted with great care.

All the festival events will be streamed in real-time from Stadthalle of Detmold. Along with the films, there will be exclusive content, like personal greetings from filmmakers, Q&A sessions, a virtual tour of our art exhibition and more. Therefore, you will not miss out on anything happening on the festival site. Streaming the event is free.

Since we offer only a limited amount of seats in the Stadthalle we highly recommend to purchase the tickets in the presale. Tickets are sold via Reservix and at all Reservix ticket offices like tourist information office in Detmold or the LZ office. We also provide the possibility of buying a ticket on location. However, we cannot guarantee that any tickets will remain for that time.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we offer only 4-hour tickets for this year. After each 4-hour slot, we will clean and disinfect all seats to welcome you again after a short break. For those who want to stay with us longer, we recommend to purchase tickets for different slots.
