ERROR TEKK – Different Television
is an interactive television installation by the media artist Yochanan Rauert from Münster. Through concatenation and feedback of numerous partially converted video effect devices, cameras, mixing consoles and video switchers, graphic patterns and effects are created on mosaic-like arranged tube televisions. Stylistically, the pictures move between the graphic computer art of the 70s, moving noise and the rave of the 90s. Of course Zini, the Wuslon from the family of electroids, is also included – including signal interference and glitches.
In terms of content, the use of old technology opens up nostalgic memories of past technologies and a discourse about technological change and the past. A discourse about the adherence to the old, obsolescence and recycling.
